Proparamedics Gifts Almost £27,000 to Local Community in 2023

Throughout 2023, Proparamedics, Northern Ireland’s longest established independent ambulance service provider, gifted almost £27,000 to the local community via charitable donations and pro bono support, culminating in a special Christmas charity collection in December.

Dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services across Northern Ireland, the People’s Kitchen was the latest organisation to receive support from Proparamedics, which saw staff hosting a collection to fill a vehicle with food and other essential supplies, to assist some of the most marginalised people in Belfast, including the homeless population.

As part of its Positive Impact Project (PIP), Proparamedics has underpinned numerous initiatives over the past year, in addition to providing voluntary medical cover and First-Aid training to events, schools and organisations, as well as hosting Northern Ireland’s first Blue Lights Education Day, which introduced local schoolchildren to the work of the emergency services.

“At Proparamedics, it’s our mission to make a real difference to the community, not just by providing the very best quality care to our patients and their families, but by aiding local initiatives and organisations,” explained Heather Hamill-Vaughan, Managing Director at Proparamedics.

“Through our Positive Impact Project, we were able to host the Blue Lights Education Day at Conway Square, Newtownards, sponsor Lisburn Ladies Football Club and complete JAM Card training with the NOW Group that will enable our staff to better communicate with individuals with autism and learning difficulties.”

Marking its 25th anniversary in business in 2024, Proparamedics also launched its ProMediKids programme just a few months ago, which has seen members of the team travelling to nurseries and primary schools across the country to deliver First Aid workshops including Mental Health First Aid.

“We’re so proud to have been able to provide almost £27,000 in charitable donations and pro bono support to our community over the last 12 months. This is our way of giving back to a community that has supported us so steadfastly for over two decades.

“In 2024, we’re looking forward to furthering our commitment to providing exceptional services and to bettering our local community and the lives of those within it.”
